NetBet takes security seriously. They are a registered member of the Independent Betting Adjudication Service (IBAS); this is a service that customers can use for free to resolve any issues with a betting site. This is a great sign of trust. It’s also voluntary so not all betting sites sign up.

For our NetBet review, we also look at what firewalls are in place. We’re pleased to see that they are there to protect your data. On top of that NetBet use top-class 256-bit SSL encryptions making your transactions as safe as possible.

Furthermore, 2-step verification is in place which is an extra layer of safety.

Licence

NetBet is a genuine sportsbook, and players are protected by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC), with whom NetBet hold a licence.

The licence ensures that players are betting on an even playing field and that promotions are fair. Seeing the UKGC logo is a big sign of trust.

As well as a UK licence, they also hold one with the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA). Holding more than one licence shows that the company is able to abide by different sets of rules. We see this as a big positive from a legit point of view.

Protection of Player Funds

The UKGC has awarded NetBet with a medium rating for its protection of player funds policy. Every betting site is required to have a process in place for returning players funds in the event they go bankrupt.

In the case of NetBet being such a reputable company, this is highly unlikely. But if they were to, your funds are well protected. While it is not a guarantee that you will get any money in your account back, it is highly like with a medium rating.

Medium is the most common rating with only a couple of betting sites reaching the high level. So, we’re satisfied with NetBet in this department.

Responsible Gambling

We really like the comprehensive responsible gambling page on NetBet. While it is a requirement of the licence to offer limits to players, NetBet goes beyond this.

The page is easy to find, simply click on the link in the footer of any page. When there, you’ll find a list of external sites that you may want to check out including Net Nanny to ensure that only over 18’s have access.

What stands out to us is the use of examples. When setting limits, it can be confusing to know exactly what will happen when. NetBet takes the guessing out of it with an excellent explanation using examples. This isn’t something we’ve come across before, and it makes everything very clear.

You can trust NetBet because
  • IBAS certified
  • Holds prestigious licences
  • Employs the best 256-bit encryption
  • Promotes responsible gambling
  • Reputable company with over 20 years of experience

NetBet £5 Free Bet Offer

NetBet recently removed its UK sports welcome offer, but we will update this page as soon as any new promotion is announced. That said, bettors old and new can take advantage of a weekly free bet offer this summer.

NetBet is offering you a £5 free bet when you place a £10 acca bet on football, every week this summer.

This is a great offer for anyone as, whilst you must bet on football to qualify, you can use your free bet on any sport you like. What’s more, NetBet’s bonus terms and restrictions are very easy to understand.

The qualifying bet must be a £10 four-fold acca, placed at odds of 1/2 (1.5). You can place this bet at any time during the week, so long as it settles before 11:59 pm each Sunday. Once it settles, your free bet will be added automatically to your account.

Naturally, cashed out or cancelled bets do not qualify. If your 4 fold becomes a 3 fold, you’ll also not be eligible for the promotion.

NetBet Free Bet Terms and Conditions

Claiming the offer is an easy process, but just bear in mind the following key terms.

Existing Player Promotions

NetBet_acca_boost

At the time of writing, there are six offers available to us within the promotions tab. Compared with other bookmakers, this is excellent.

Each promotion provides good value to players and mostly come in the form of free bets. There is a weekly ‘bet and get’ offer for virtual sports as well as an NBA ‘bet and get’.

On top of that, there are acca insurances and boosted odds on selected markets. All of these are interesting and the terms are all favourable.

Our pick of the bonuses, however, is the ‘Acca Boost’. Players can earn an extra profit of up to 50% on winning accumulators.

The percentage boost depends on the number of legs within your acca. NetBet displays it as:

NetBet_acca_boost_amount

The offer is clear, and it gives you a chance to boost winnings. It’s a positive promotion, and although some bookmakers do offer this it is becoming less common in the UK.

The number of betting opportunities at NetBet is great. With over 30 different sports to bet on, there is something for everyone. It is one of the most comprehensive sites and competes with the leaders in the industry in this department.

Players can bet on sports including:

This is not an exhaustive list as it even includes the likes of beach volleyball. We noticed that there are more markets than other bookmakers on American sports, so if you enjoy betting on those then NetBet could be ideal for you.

Football Betting at NetBet

NetBet_football_markets

Having looked for a number of bets on site it is clear that football is their number one focus. This is understandable as it of course one of the most popular sports to be on.

Players can bet on leagues from around the globe including European, Australian, American and South American. On top of that, they offer odds on lower-level leagues, right down to the professional development league in the UK. This is impressive as not all sites are willing to lay bets on such events.

Furthermore, they are official partners of two clubs in the Brazilian Serie A; Red Bull Bragantino and Vasco. Both of these sides are well-known which only cements NetBet’s trust score.

Does NetBet Have Competitive Odds?

One of the most important aspects of sports betting is ensuring that you’re getting value from your bets. By this, we mean that odds should not only be in line with competitors but offering a reasonable margin.

Every bookmaker adds a small margin to their odds. The easiest way to explore this further is with an example of a 1X2 market.

Leicester vs Newcastle Margin Comparison
BookmakerNumber of Markets1X2 Margin
NetBet185+4%
bet365300+5%
William Hill506+6%
Paddy Power30+7%

In an ideal world, each bookie would offer 100% which would mean the implied probability (%) of all three outcomes would add up to a perfect 100. As you can see, however, this is not the case.

As a general rule, we like to say that each outcome has a 2% margin placed on it. So, 106% is the average. NetBet sits well in this, in fact below so this is an excellent indication that they provide competitive odds.

It’s worth bearing in mind that this is a single example, and only for one market. Paddy Power will likely offer better odds-on other markets such as the first goalscorer.

Maximum Payouts

For our NetBet review, we wanted to know what the maximum pay-outs would be for each sport. Often online bookmakers display this in their terms and conditions per sport. However, there wasn’t much information on site.

We did come across a maximum pay-out per day, however, and this is £100,000. This is quite low in comparison with other bookmakers.

For example, you can win up to £2,000,000 on elite sports events with the biggest bookies such as bet365 and William Hill. Smaller sites such as Unibet offer a maximum of £250,000 for top sports.

Although £100,000 is at the lower end of the scale, it’s still a huge amount of money. It’s just something to consider when placing accumulators with big odds and potential pay-outs.

Live Betting

NetBet_live_betting

The in-play betting experience at NetBet is positive. It has its own dedicated tab in the main menu making it easy to see which events are live. From there, you can see which sports they offer too. We can see they have over 20 sports here, which is above average.

For our NetBet review, we tried placing a bet live in-play. It was simple and the bet was quickly added to our account. Odds appeared to be updated regularly and have scanned a few other sites that were in line with the major players in the industry.

Live Betting Features

NetBet_stats

We also found a few interesting features:

These are all excellent additions to the live betting offering. The stats and live scores provide instant data on matches and could help you with picking your next in-play bet

Add2bet allows you to add new selections to existing bets. This is pretty unique. Some sites do offer a similar product allowing you to make changes to bets, but the NetBet offering does stand out.

SnapBet is again unique and aimed at enhancing the in-play experience. For this, you place a time-specific bet on your mobile.

Let’s say Manchester City to score in the next 60 seconds. SnapBet separates this into three periods of 20 seconds (it’s always three sections). You will £10 if they score in the first 20 seconds, £20 if they do it in the second, or £30 if Man City score in the final 20.

We’re not sure how they calculate the odds, or just how much value you get if the bet wins in the opening period – but it is fun. It’s also not something we’ve come across before, so it’s great to see new features.

Cash out at NetBet

NetBet_cash_out

We’re impressed with the cash out offering at NetBet. Players can cash out fully, or leave part of their stake on with partial cash out. Only the major bookmakers offer this, so it’s good to see that NetBet can.

What stands out about the NetBet feature is how well it is explained on site. You’ll find a handy video showing you exactly how to do it, and there is a link to an extensive FAQ section.

While we really like the feature, it’s important to remember that it isn’t necessarily giving you good value. If your bet goes on to win and you cash out early, you will be missing out on profit.

Of course, if your bet goes on to lose then taking any profit is great.

Live Streaming

We couldn’t find any information on live streaming on site so reached out to their live chat. Unfortunately, they confirmed that at present it is not offered.

This is disappointing, especially considering all the additional features they offer. Most betting sites do offer some kind of live streaming option, so NetBet is missing something here.

much_better£10/N/AN/A
ecopayz£10/N/AN/A
bank_transfer£0.10/£104-12 working days

We were pleased to see a number of trusted payment options when researching for our NetBet review. The likes of PayPal, Trustly and Neteller rank highly on our list of safe deposit methods.

Having said that, there are a couple of drawbacks. Firstly, deposits via PayPal, Neteller and Skrill do not qualify for offers. While many betting sites do not allow Skrill or Neteller, PayPal is allowed by many.

Furthermore, the withdrawal times are a little longer than we’d like to see. Paddy Power are able to offer instant withdrawals to debit cards while NetBet players need to wait between 4-8 working days. This is above the average waiting time, and too high in our opinion.

On top of that, fees also apply. A 1.5% charge is applicable, regardless of the method, to withdrawals of £500 or more. You’ll find that most betting sites do not charge fees, so this seems a bit unnecessary.

The NetBet app receives a 4.1/5 rating on the Apple store which is excellent for an online betting site. It downloads quickly and only requires 89.9 MB, this is below the average size of an app.

Once downloaded you’ll notice that the site is very similar to the desktop version. All the sports are available, as well as the promotions. It’s one of the best user experiences we’ve encountered when playing on our mobile.

In terms of safety, you can set up a four-digit pin to log in, and you can use your fingerprint or Face ID to access the app too (depending on your device).

There are firewalls in place to protect your data making it an overall excellent betting app. It’s one we highly recommend you download.

If you prefer to play directly from the web, a mobile web version is also available. It has been optimised for most screen sizes so you will be able to place bets just as easily from there.

If you want to get in touch with NetBet then you have plenty of options open to you.

They operate solid hours for their live chat, from 9.00 – 23.00. Although we do prefer to see this available around the clock, it will suit most players.

You may also notice there is a WhatsApp option. This is rare and not something that we come across often. It works in a similar way to live chat in that you are connected to an agent but through WhatsApp.

We found that the email support was useful, and our query was replied to within 6 hours which is shorter than the 24-hour window advertised.

There is also a comprehensive set of FAQs. Those provided examples of how bonuses work and could be your first port of call.

Overall, we rate the customer support at NetBet highly, and it competes with the big names in the industry.

User-Experience

The overall experience of NetBet is hugely positive. The site is clean and easy to navigate. The text is easy to see with black, white and grey dominating the colour scheme.

Sports and markets are clearly shown, and we had no issues loading our betslip.

The in-play experience was excellent given the additional tools, and NetBet also provides a casino product.

Improvement Areas

Having provided our NetBet review, we can see that there are a few areas where this betting site can improve.

Most notably, we’d like to see withdrawals be free. It’s unusual for a betting site to charge for these nowadays, especially for every method. Most companies provide this service for free.

We’d also like to see some live streams. While it’s not a dealbreaker, it is something that we can do on other betting sites.

In terms of betting, the maximum pay-out is also relatively low, although in the grand scheme £100,000 is a high amount. In our experience, betting sites can offer amounts into the millions.

Conclusion

In summary, NetBet is an exciting sports betting site that offers a range of fantastic features. It provides players with a safe environment to bet on and takes responsible gambling seriously.

There are a few improvements we’d like to see, but overall it is a good experience for bettors and one that we would recommend.
